Credit By Work Experience Process Checklist
- The Network team will no longer accept the Micro Internship in lieu of the Network internship course.
- A person who applies for credit by life experience for Network Internship will need to pay the per credit fees as stipulated by Student Services.
- The following requirements need to be submitted for the portfolio:
- A person who has not completed a Micro Internship will need to complete the full portfolio with resume, etc. They must also include documentation of 320 hours of work of which 128 hours need to be Network related tasks (see sample list on Network Program website). The remaining hours can be general IT or microcomputer related.
- A person who has completed a Micro Internship will need to complete a partial portfolio which only needs to show substantiation for the network tasks. Since they have been given credit for the Micro Internship, they will only need to complete the hours for network tasks related to the program competencies. The number of hours needed would vary depending on the following situations:
- If the student completed the Micro Internship class and thus completed a total of 144 hours for their internship requirement, they would need 56 hours (or 40% of 144) of network related tasks.
- If the student completed a portfolio to receive credit by work experience for the Micro Internship class and thus completed a total of 320 hours for their internship requirement, they would need 128 hours (or 40% of 320) of network related tasks.
